We have learnt how to create and use a checkbox control to create dynamic conditional formattng. Today we'll understand the process of creating dynamic charts in Microsoft Excel using checkboxes.
  • First select the relevant data
  • Copy and paste it to another suitable location
  • Insert a chart
  • Now create two checkbox controls and rename them appropriately
  • Link the checkboxes each to any convenient worksheet cell so that when the checkboxes are selected the cells display 'TRUE' and when unselected they display 'FALSE'
  • Now use a 'IF' function in the cells for the total marks and average marks so that data is available if the cells linked to the checkboxes are 'TRUE' and have no data if the linked cells are 'FALSE'. For example: =IF($E$15,E4,"") and =IF($F$15,F4,"")
