Gantt charts in Excel 2007 can help us follow the progress of our projects graphically. Since we can also in-build milestones and other graphics into our Gantt charts, we can monitor and also take corrective action in our tasks.
Any project will have a number of tasks and each task will be started on a certain date, require a specific time to complete and therefore have an end date. Many softwares are now available to create Gantt charts with a variable degree of sophistication. They are expensive and as starter you may not like to invest in them. To understand and use Gantt charts you can use Excel. Since most computers have MS-Office installed there is no need to invest extra money to get an idea about such charts. We have already described how to create such charts in Excel 2003. Excel 2007 offers a better user interface to create Gantt charts.
