Gant charts in Excel, named after the
American engineer, Henry Gantt provide an excellent graphical
representation of the progess of a project with time.
Many softwares are available to create Gantt charts. A Gantt chart is a
bar chart which depicts a project time-frame. It shows for example the
start and finish dates of a project and represents graphically the
duration of tasks against the time. It is a useful graphical tool for
planning and managing projects. You can easily monitor the progress of
a project using a gantt chart.
Using a gantt chart you can decide how much time a project should take.
As shown in the training video the tasks are carried out in a certain
order. Modern Gantt charts show dependencies between tasks. You can
also include milestones in Gantt charts.
