How to use data validation in Excel 2007: Entering correct data into
Excel sheets is crucial to any work in calculations or analysis. Data validation provides an excellent tool to make data entry
easy, accurate and quick. You can validate text, numbers, functions and
custom functions using the data validation feature. Using lists,
boundaries of numbers, text length limitations and even custom
criteria, you can ensure that the data entry operator makes lesser
mistakes. Also by providing visual messages you can guide the operator.
Finally if the user makes a wrong data entry he gets an attention
grabbing message which informs him about how to follow the data entry
instructions and that the data he entered does not match the specified
parameters!
